The teachings I throw down are meant to be tried, tested and then used, but only if they work.

The same goes for all spiritual teachings of the world; I’ve notice however, that we tend to not embody them, rather we tend to just quote them or stick them up on our social media accounts.

I always want to know as a student myself and always want all students to strive to understand how lessons or teachings apply to our daily lives. Everyone, especially in cities like San Francisco, L.A. or New York with fast paces, big lights and stressors galore need tools. Big tools.

Part of what I’m here to do and part of my expertise is to distill metaphysical teachings and put them into layman’s terms. This got me thinking, and got me excited to share a teaching I recently found in a business book.

In the book “The Real-Life MBA”, by Jack Welch, the author outlines what he calls the “Area of Destiny”. This is a cutting edge philosophy, where Welch delivers a framework to discover and create exactly what you want in your life and career.

Welch, challenges the reader to line their life up in a way the creates an intersection of what they are good at and what they like to do.

This is profound . This business man is offering sage advice.

The Intersection of Success and Happiness

Take a deep look at this. Aligning your life in a way that allows you live and work in unison is a key to happiness and purpose. It will also lead you to a deep and rich existence.

Now, start to take a look this teaching, and apply it to your life; Ask yourself, what is my “Area of Destiny”?

Who am I? What am I here for and what am I doing on this planet? If I don’t have what I want or if I don’t Know why I’m here, then why not?

Simply put, there’s a reason you don’t Know. You’ve got a block, maybe it’s mental, maybe it’s physical, but something is in the way. It’s up to each of us to figure out who we are and what we are here for.

Then it’s up to each of us to go and do something about it, if we choose to.

The “Sweet Spot”

I have a personal framework in which I add another aspect to Welch’s work. I call it the “Sweet Spot”. It’s a Venn diagram intersection between the following roads (I challenge you to create this yourself.).

1) What are you good at?

2) What do you like to do?

3) What can get paid well to do?

These 3 integral components create the “Sweet Spot” for living a happy, purposeful and successful life, both personally, professionally and spiritually.

I always say, that if you can get two out of the three, you’re doing pretty well. If you can get all three, you’re knocking it out of the park. It’s very possible to find this balance and create a career and life that’s inline with your own unique “Sweet Spot”.

What you need is a burning desire to follow your dreams and to understand that it takes hard work, dedication, blood, sweat and tears to follow your passions and your dreams. Nothing less will do.

There are many things I don’t want to do as an entrepreneur, but the good and the bad are all part of what I’ve signed up for. I must be willing to push myself past my comfort zone in order to live my purpose and continually align myself in my own “Sweet Spot”.

When you fully start to understand that there’s no separation between life and work, that they are one and the same, then you will be able to consciously choose how to live your life in alignment.

Life is a constant choice, choose to live it in your own “Sweet Spot”.

Living in alignment will teach you that all things flow  and all things are intertwined. I’m not saying to not have work/life balance. But, I am saying when you start to buy into your “Area of Destiny” or “Sweet Spot”, the effort it takes to live in this space actually takes far less energy then before, because you enjoy it!

You see the inputs needed to achieve alignment as necessary. You see all the work and effort as a positive rather than a negative or a “have to”.

A Different Experience

This is a very different experience than having to clock in and work a job that you don’t like (even if you do clock in). When you wake up in the morning and everything you do is in line with who you are and what you want to be,  then I think your life transforms and you begin to truly live.

I challenge each of you reading this to locate your “Sweet Spot”, that place where you work in what you are good at, what you like to do, and what you get paid well to do. Do this, because when you find it, you will begin to experience more happiness and much more joy in your life, along with much less resistance.

I also believe you will become more successful and you will make more money.  People will feel your energy and passion, it becomes infectious. You will attract more to you, in many ways.

We all want to be around people that make us feel passionate and alive as well. We want to be around people that are excited about life and their paths, because let’s be honest, we all want some of that.

That’s what we’re all striving for one way or another. So I challenge you to go after this and create this type of experience for yourself and the world.

Find out where your “Area of Destiny” is. Find out where your “Sweet Spot” is, then go make it happen.

Like I have said before, this takes work and you are going to have to sit down and figure it out for yourself.

This may very well manifest into something different than what you expect or what you think it should look like. It may even be in a completely different field than you are currently in. I Promise you though, if you are willing to dive in and if you are willing to take an honest look at yourself and be fearless, you will be able to figure this out quickly.

I Challenge you to do that.

Take this information, take these teachings and go apply them to your life. Go test them and see if they are real and if they work for you.

Go find your your destiny and go shape it. Go make it happen. Go make the world a better place and go make the world that you live in for yourself a better place.
