Over the past weeks, I have offered you ways to create more self-awareness and seize the power to use this time at home to search deep within to discover who you are and what you want create in your life. I’ve also offered you the opportunity to continue to distract yourself through T.V., alcohol, food, social media or fear.

The choice is yours if you want to use this time to wake up or not. I am not attached and not here to judge your choice, but I am here to guide and provide some insights that can lead you to more self-power, love and awareness.

Time to Wake Up

We are in a unique time in our lives and one that we have never seen before. This time is going to change our lives forever, which means it is going to change you forever, that’s reality, wake up to it.

The amount of time we have to dedicate to turning inward, understanding who we are and transforming our-lives is here and it’s right in front of us. We may never have this much time to ourselves again, I want you to hear that and feel that.

Use the energy, fear, doubt, excitement and time you have access to now for a catalyst to change. Use it as a motivator to take your self-awareness to the next level.

One critical step in the process of making a big life change comes from within. Self-awareness is a necessity for a lot of things in life, and transitionary periods are no different. If you feel like all of a sudden, you’re really in tune with your emotions and your headspace more so than usual, you’re experiencing enhances self-awareness and understanding. Once you experience it, there’s no going back—a change is coming!

You can’t stop the process of waking up once you start, you can’t unring a bell.

Self-awareness will be your compass as you move through a range of emotions, tough decision-making, and challenges that inevitably come along with a big transition. Self-awareness is ever-evolving. You won’t just wake up one day and say, “Oh, I’m self-aware now!” and never have to work at it again. Being self-aware takes effort, introspection, and some quality self-care time, but it will be your most crucial navigational tool as you make your significant life transitions!

But How Do We Create Awareness?

Here’s 5 simple steps:
  1. Build awareness by slowing down through yoga, meditation, relaxation techniques or anything that gets you out of your “thinking/judging mind”. Then listen to and witness what comes up. Journal what comes up so you can see it.
  2. Admit and/or acknowledge that you want to make a change or shift in your life. It’s kinda like being an addict, the first step is acceptance. Create awareness of a habit, then you can work on and change the habit.
  3. Once you’ve identified the challenge/addiction/negative behavior you want to change, start to build some choices out. Can you accept what’s happening? Do you need to make a change? Can you leave or quit the situation? Do you want to continue resisting what’s happening?
  4. Create an action plan and take the necessary steps to create the change you seek.
  5. Practice and continue to work with the change you seek to make. Habit change usually takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks to set in, so keep at it and be willing to make mistakes and stumble.

Continue and use this process to take your self-awareness and ability to create changes in your life to the next level. Now is the time to work on yourself and decide how you new world will look.
